What to expect at Fintech Nexus USA 2023

We are just one month away from the 11th annual Fintech Nexus USA event at the Javits Center in New York City, so I wanted to bring you this quick preview of what you can expect.

Everything is coming together nicely as we prepare to host the leaders of the fintech world on May 10-11.

Biggest names in fintech on the Keynote Stage

We have put together what I think is our best roster of keynote speakers ever. Stephanie Cohen, the Global Head of Platform Solutions at Goldman Sachs, leads us off on the opening morning. She will be followed by industry legend Nigel Morris, the co-founder of Capital One and now the head of QED Investors.

We also have Renaud Laplanche, the CEO and Co-Founder of Upgrade; Simon Khalaf, the new CEO of Marqeta; Liza Landsman, the new CEO of Stash; Stuart Sopp, CEO of Current; Mike Cagney, CEO of Figure; Caitlin Long, the CEO of Custodia Bank and many more.

Fintech Nexus USA is the place to be for one-on-one networking

Networking always a major part of Fintech Nexus events

One of the most popular programs at Fintech Nexus USA is our 1-on-1 networking program. When it goes live a couple of weeks before the event, our AI-based matching system will suggest people you should meet based on your preferences. You can easily set up 15-minute meetings for an introductory discussion at the event.

We will also have our VIP networking program and our Hosted program for prominent bankers and investors to meet with fintechs on a more curated basis.

Party on an aircraft carrier

When the day ends at the Javits Center, the festivities begin. This year, we have rented out The Intrepid, the legendary aircraft carrier located on the Hudson River, thanks to BHG Financial. Everyone is invited to walk the few blocks to Pier 86 at 46th Street to enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres as they watch the sunset from the flight deck. You can also check out the space shuttle Enterprise, housed inside the Intrepid, and some of the world’s fastest jets.

You can keep the party going into the night with the official day one after party at the amazing St. Cloud Rooftop at the Knickerbocker Hotel, courtesy of Argyle.

The Fintech Nexus Industry Awards Show

The evening of day two will bring us to one of the year’s highlights in fintech, the Fintech Nexus Industry Awards Show. In its sixth year, this is the night when we all gather to recognize the leaders driving the fintech industry forward. We are delighted to welcome one of the global thought leaders in fintech, Brett King, as the MC for this special evening.

You can see all the finalists and the list of categories here. Everyone needs a separate ticket to attend the Awards Show, and they are available on our registration page.

PitchIt – The Fintech Startups Pitch Competition

Our startups’ contest, PitchIt, brings together some of the most promising fintech companies to pitch live to a panel of judges from prominent venture capital firms. Previous winners have included Nova Credit, KickFurther, Sivo, and SentiLink.

Applications have already closed for PitchIt, and we are now selecting a group of 16 semi-finalists from the 100+ applications. They will pitch virtually the week before Fintech Nexus USA. Then our independent judges will select the eight finalists who will pitch live on the Innovation Zone stage at Fintech Nexus USA.

The Expo floor will be buzzing

Our 160,000-square-foot Expo Floor will feature more than 200 companies providing various solutions for the fintech and banking industries. The show floor is always buzzing on both days of the event as this is also where the 1-on-1 networking meetings take place; lunch also happens here, as well as the special meetups and afternoon happy hours.

A handful of spots remain on the show floor if you want to participate, but you need to be quick. The sponsorship deadline is this Friday, April 14. More details are here.

The Women in Fintech program is always very popular

Be part of our famous Women in Fintech program

Fintech Nexus has had a thriving Women in Fintech program for many years. Led by Fintech Nexus president Joy Schwartz, it brings together outstanding women and emerging leaders for networking and celebration. The women’s networking lunch is always packed, and the speed networking event receives rave reviews. Our Rising Star program allows a limited number of complimentary tickets to Fintech Nexus USA for women-led fintech startups and aspiring women in fintech. Details are on our Women in Fintech page.

Stay in New York City at a discounted rate

We have secured discounted room blocks at several New York City hotels. Some hotels are already sold out (of our discounted rooms), but there is still availability at the Marriott Marquis, The Intercontinental, and Pendry Manhattan West. These hotels will also likely sell out soon, so you need to move to book a discounted room.

Register by April 21 to secure discounted ticket

You can still register for a discounted ticket to Fintech Nexus USA until April 21. After that date, list prices apply. As a reader of Fintech Nexus News, you are entitled to a 15% discount off the already discounted price. Use the promo code Friend15 at checkout to apply your discount.

Putting together this show is a labor of love for the Fintech Nexus team. We are not owned by a big corporation (like every other major fintech conference); we are a small group of fintech and events enthusiasts who love what we do.

I look forward to seeing you in New York City next month. And if you see me walking around the event, please stop me to say hi.
