According to Techcrunch, UK digital challenger bank Monzo has quietly begun working on a US launch; they have setup a small team and will be working initially with a US banking partner as they work on getting the necessary regulatory licenses; the plan is “for Monzo to create a ‘lite’ version of its product for U.S. customers, much in the same was as it first launched in the U.K. with a pre-paid debit card before eventually offering a fully fledged bank account.” Source.
