SEC Launches Fake ICO to Educate Investors

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission launched a mock ICO to help educate investors; the HoweyCoin, named after the Howey Test, presents and investment opportunity that is too good to be true; when investors try to invest they are redirected to the SEC website’s educational tools; the offering features guaranteed returns and other attractions that make it seem like a safe, profitable investment; the site is meant to point out how easy it can be to look legitimate but at the same time be fraudulent.
