Ashwin Kumar

Ashwin Kumar is the Head of Startups for Banking-as-a-Service at Stripe. As the former CEO and co-founder of Y Combinator-backed Sway Finance, Ashwin’s startup roots make him uniquely positioned to help fintech founders unlock the power of Stripe’s BaaS APIs to solve complex financial problems. Prior to joining Stripe in 2021, Ashwin was a data scientist for YC Startup School, a product manager/machine learning engineer at Mythic and a software engineer at Autopilot.

From his experience founding and working at multiple startups, he has designed products from scratch and taken them to market, taught himself to code and won several hackathons to support his entrepreneurial endeavors. Ashwin holds a Business Economics degree with a minor in Accounting from UCLA and was part of Y Combinator’s S16 cohort. When he’s not out meeting with founders, you can find him onstage, pursuing standup comedy in NYC.
