Julapa Jagtiani is Senior Economic Advisor and Economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. At the Federal Reserve, she has participated and led several supervisory policy projects – most recently, focusing on fintech and related activities including cyber risk. Julapa has also conducted influential research and published her articles in top finance and economics journals. Her most recent research focus on emerging issues around fintech, use of alternative data, fintech partnership with banks, fintech and financial inclusion, fintech small business lending, cryptocurrencies and central bank digital currency (CBDC), and fintech policy implications. Dr. Jagtiani is also Central Bank Research Fellow at the Bank for International Settlements (BIS). Julapa received her MBA and PhD in Finance from NYU Stern School of Business, where she held the Rockefeller Foundation Fellowship.
