Christina Tetreault is Deputy Commissioner, Office of Financial Technology Innovation, at the California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI). She is a lawyer whose expertise includes emerging payments technologies, financial data use, and crypto assets. As Deputy Commissioner for the Office of Financial Technology Innovation, Christina is charged with creating a national model for fostering responsible innovation. To that end, she and her team meet with people to provide support and guidance to emerging businesses that will spur job creation and safeguard consumers. At Consumer Reports, Christina was responsible for day-to-day policy efforts to realize a fair and just financial services marketplace. She previously represented consumer interest groups on the steering committee of the Federal Reserve sponsored Faster Payments Task Force, and Christina recently completed a term on the FDIC’s Committee on Economic Inclusion.
