Rich Franks

Rich Franks is the Head of Lightbox at Credit Karma. In his role, Rich is responsible for scaling Credit Karma’s industry-first platform, which helps members shop with confidence for financial products that they have a high likelihood of being approved for. On the flip side, Lightbox enables partners to better tailor their offers in near real-time and identify their ideal customers. This helps streamline underwriting. Rich also helped pioneer Karma Guarantee, a program that puts our Lightbox technology to the test by giving members greater certainty about the financial products for which they will be approved. If for any reason a member is not approved, they’ll receive cash back from Credit Karma.

Prior to joining Credit Karma, Rich was the chief credit officer at two fintech startups, FS Card, Inc. and Amount, and served as the head of credit card risk and unsecured underwriting at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. Rich began his career at Capital One where he spent over a decade in data science and risk analytics. Rich has a BS in Engineering from Georgia Tech and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
