Christopher Smalley

Chris Smalley is Managing Director of Digital Banking at Customers Bank, a top 100 digital and fintech-forward bank with approximately $20 billion in assets. Chris leads the teams delivering traditional loans, payments and cash management products to customers through the digital channel. He is responsible for product strategy and development, acquisition and digital marketing, and customer service for these segments. In addition, Chris leads Customers Bank’s digital asset businesses, working with many of the largest crypto firms including exchanges, OTCs, brokerages, stablecoin issuers, market makers and institutional funds. His team launched the bank’s real-time payments solution for cryptocurrency and digital asset institutions using the branded Customers Bank Instant Token (CBIT™), a 100% dollar-backed token, for instant transaction settlement.
 
Chris began his career at American Express and later Accenture. He received an MBA from University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business, then he held leadership roles at Dell and Aurea Software, before joining Customers Bank.
