With fall beginning this Saturday it is time for my annual roundup of the fall fintech conferences. For fintech professionals fall is conference season with a number of major events happening around the globe. While LendIt Fintech USA happens in the spring many, if not most, of the other major fintech events of the year are in the fall. Here I bring you a brief rundown of some of the major fintech conferences happening in the next couple of months. Where we have partnership arrangements we have provided a discount code for you. I am providing this list in chronological order.
ABS East has been the go to fall conference for securitization for many years. This year is the 24th annual conference and I will actually speaking there on a marketplace lending panel on the Monday afternoon. My partner, Jason Jones, will also be speaking on a blockchain session. Here is what ABS East has to say about their event:
Join your colleagues from across the industry for quality content and expert insights for the largest gathering at ABS East yet. There is something for everyone at ABS East, which is a testament to our democratic process for selecting speakers that allows everyone to have a voice. Working together with our Investor Advisory Board, composed of 18 of the largest and most influential ABS investors, we select only the most high-quality speakers from across the industry. With an expected delegation of over 4,000 structured finance professionals, including more than 2,000 issuers and investors in the ABS market, ABS East is where you go to get deals done.
Finovate is known for their startup presentations. Many famous fintech names first came to prominence after presenting at Finovate. In recent years they have also added a conference component to their event but the focus is still on the curated startup presentations where companies get seven minutes to demo their solution to the audience. This year they also have an additional day for two events: AI in Fintech Summit and Blockchain in Fintech Summit.
See cutting-edge banking, financial and payments technology in a unique, short-form, demo format. Get advice and insights from 100+ fintech experts.
Lend360 has traditionally been the second largest event of the year for the online lending industry (after LendIt Fintech of course). I have never actually been because the calendar never works out for me but I have heard good things.
Connect with your peers, share ideas and learn from industry insiders and decision-makers at LEND360. It’s time to get savvy to exclusive online lending insights, expand your business and connect with influencers shaping the fintech industry.
The Online Lending Policy Summit is the annual event of the Online Lending Policy Institute in Washington. This is where the marketplace lending industry gathers to meet with lawmakers and to discuss regulation. The third annual event will feature keynote speakers including Congressman Gregory Meeks, Congressman Trey Hollingsworth, Craig Phillips of the US Treasury and Paul Watkins of the CFPB. I will also be on a panel this year focused on the recent US Treasury report on fintech.
Over the past few years, across the globe, there has been unprecedented growth and innovation in online lending. The Online Lending Policy Summit will bring together thought leaders from the private and public sectors to continue the constructive dialogue that has begun between the industry and the various regulatory agencies.
With more than 11,000 attendees the Money2020 event in Vegas is the largest fintech conference on the planet. Their focus has traditionally been on payments but they have covered other areas of fintech, including online lending in the past.
Money20/20 is the anchor event on the industry calendar where leaders, innovators, and disruptors unite to drive change and revolutionize the future of money. It’s a truly unique 4-day experience that facilitates the right conversations and insightful learnings, leaving you inspired and equipped to reach your goals.
This event is put on by IMN, the same people who produce ABS East. So, it has a strong bent towards structured finance. This is their fourth annual event and I will be speaking here again this year chairing the opening panel session titled, The New Age of Lending.
As the online lending industry continues to expand its ABS aspirations in terms of volume and variety of assets, platforms will need to ensure stable and diverse sources of funding to maintain this growth amongst an ever-growing FinTech landscape. From whole loan portfolio sales, banks unveiling new digital lending strategies, to securitization and the potential for a broker-driven secondary market, this conference will explore efforts underway to ensure a resilient securitization market for the online lending long-term game plan.
Money2020 have had shows in the USA, Europe and Singapore but this year marks their first foray into China. The world’s largest fintech event series is coming to China to the city of Hangzhou, what some people call the Silicon Valley of China. The city is probably most well known as the home of Alibaba and Ant Financial.
Money20/20 China is the newest addition to the Money20/20 global portfolio of destination events. Here, the industry’s smartest leaders, visionaries and influencers come together to shape the next generation of financial innovations. We’ve launched Money20/20 China in response to strong demand from Chinese companies with domestic and international growth plans, and global companies seeking expansion across China.
Our own event will be back in the fintech capital of the world, London, for the fifth time. With Europe and more specifically the UK leading the way in many areas of fintech such as open banking, digital banks, peer to peer lending and more our European event reflects this leadership. We will also feature thought leaders on blockchain, credit risk, AI, data analytics, legal and regulatory and of course lending innovation.
LendIt Fintech Europe 2018 is Europe’s leading event in financial services innovation. Hear from European fintech leaders such as Nikolay Storonsky of Revolut, Jaidev Janardana of Zopa, Rishi Khosla of OakNorth, Kirsty Rutter of Barclays and more. Our featured keynote in 2018 will be George Osborne, former Chancellor of the Exchequer and a long proponent of fintech. Join more than 1,200 senior fintech executives to connect, learn and do business.
I hope to see you at some of these events this fall.
